Who am I?
A photographer (you knew that) but also a mom, a wife, a pizza-lover. I love a good crossword, any food that someone else has made for me, windy summer days, and any music that makes me want to dance. I struggle with being patient, getting to the gym, and putting my phone away at night…the list could go on of course. Life is a work in progress!
As a parent I know the constant struggle between staying in the moment and staying sane. My boys have changed my life in every way and I find cannot quote the clichés enough: the days are long, the years are short! It’s the longest, shortest time! Live in the moment because one day you’ll wake up and you’ll wonder what happened to that little baby whose every problem you could fix with a hug and a snack?! (Ok maybe that last one isn’t as much of a cliché.)
I also know that I’m not in a lot of my own family photos because I’m the one who is taking most of them (are you the default photographer in your family too?).
I am a resigned control freak- always wishing my house were cleaner (and/or neater) than it is right now. But if I waited to take pictures of my family in our less-than-perfectly-kept home, I’d have a big empty book of No Pictures to look at years from now. So I have lots of photos of a messy house with happy (most of the time) kids in it.
