A bit about me
A photographer (you knew that) but also a mom, a wife, a chocolate/peanut butter fan. I love a good crossword, scrabble game, delicious food, windy summer days. I struggle with being patient, getting to the gym, and putting my phone away at night…the list could go on of course. Life is a work in progress.
As a parent I know the constant struggle between staying in the moment and staying sane. My boys have changed my life in every way and I find cannot quote the clichés enough: the days are long, the years are short! It’s the longest, shortest time! Live in the moment because one day you’ll wake up and you’ll wonder what happened to that little baby whose every problem you could fix with a hug or a snack?! (Ok maybe that last one isn’t as much of a cliché.)
I also know that I’m not in a lot of my own family photos because I’m the one who is taking most of them (are you the default photographer in your family too?).
I am always wishing my house were cleaner (and/or neater) than it is right now. The chaos makes me crazy sometimes… but if I waited to take pictures of my family in our less-than-perfectly-kept home, I’d have a big empty book of No Pictures to look at years from now. So I take photos of a messy house with happy (most of the time) kids in it.
