F.A.Q.

Can you recommend a location for our session?

I am familiar with many, and can definitely suggest, outdoor locations; but I always encourage families to consider places that matter to them—especially your own home. It doesn’t need to be spotless or decorator-perfect. The spaces you inhabit are part of your family’s story, and they are the best environment for authentic, relaxed images. That said, if outdoors feels more comfortable, we’ll find a spot that fits the vision you are going for.

What should we wear?

Wear what reflects your vision. Coordinated or dressed-up outfits will result in a more formal look to your images, while your kids’ favorite tees (or pj’s, or nothing at all!) will capture your family just as you are right now in a more authentic, spontaneous way. Consider your setting and the weather as well: heels will look out of place in the woods. Kids’ clothes get dirty at the park sometimes. And people who are out in the cold with no jacket don’t usually smile much!!

What happens if the weather is terrible?

In the event of poor weather for an outdoor session, I will be in touch with you about either changing to an indoor location or rescheduling.

Will you pose or direct us during the session?

When needed, I’ll guide you into groupings or positions that photograph well—but I prefer to let natural moments unfold. The best images come from your real connections, not fabricated poses.

Can we include extended family, other important people, or pets?

Yes!  Extended family members, beloved caregivers, and pets are all welcome additions to your session.  I do not charge for additional people.  If you are planning to include your dog(s), please make sure the location we choose is suitable and welcoming.
