Danielle and Ben: City Hall, Cambridge

I had the great honor and pleasure of being a part of Danielle and Ben’s City Hall marriage ceremony in Cambridge (our fair city!) a few weeks ago.  Although they are also celebrating the occasion of their marriage in Mexico with friends and family this month (aahhhh..), Danielle and Ben wanted to have a private civil ceremony, for just the two of them, beforehand.  While performing the civil ceremony at a separate place and time from the rest of the wedding festivities is not for everyone, what I think is for everyone is the importance of remembering to make time for a few minutes alone after (or before) your ceremony; to have, as Danielle put it, “a moment where it’s just the two of us.”

That’s who’s going to be responsible for your marriage, after all.

Photographs from Danielle and Ben’s City Hall marriage are featured today over at Beantown Bride, where they’ve compiled some great pointers on what to consider if you’re considering a city hall ceremony.

Grace Owens - Hi Emily, My fiance and I are getting married at city hall in mid-May (probably on Tuesday or something silly). I LOVED your photo shoot at Cambridge city hall. I was wondering what you would charge for a short ceremony like that, or maybe just some pre-ceremony portraits? Thanks for your time, I look forward to hearing from you. – Grace
